  Three years ago, we ordered a futon stuffed with organic cotton. When it arrived, it was clear from the first smell (and reaction) that the futon was filled with chemically treated cotton.
  We called up the company, who insisted that the cotton was not treated. if they indeed used organic cotton in any products, they would certainly recognize the difference in smell.
  Because they did not want to have it returned, and because of the expense of returning such a heavy item, plus the expense we incurred when it was delivered, we kept the futon and aired it out for a year in an unused attic.
  We've used it a couple of times for company and had it covered with a mattress cover. I just went to move it today, a humid day, and the residual smell from the futon made my eyes and throat swell. This is three years later. I would not use this company.
